As there are numerous attractions in Nakhon Ratchasima, home stay is an alternative for visitors who prefer to spend the night at Ban Prasat. Surrounded by paddy rice fields and a sacred river Than Prasat, which divided Ban Prasat Nua and Ban Prasat Tai, this home stay program is one of the must-visited site in Nakhon Ratchasima. First initiated in 1966, the place serves the prototype home stay program for other villages in Thailand. The perfect time for a visit is during the winter between October and December.
Like other villages in the region, Ban Prasat villagers are mostly farmers. As the rice is harvested once a year, villagers decided to boost their income by creating handicrafts such as reed mats and hats, handmade shoes and bags, including other activities like breeding silkworm and making Thai stringed musical instruments Soh U and Soh Duang.
